Worst blogger ever!
I always say I'm going to try to blog every two weeks but there's so much fun to be had in the summer that time flies by and before I know it, a month has passed with no new news!
So, here is Frozen Laundry's last four weeks in a wee tiny nut shell.
After JumpShip on the island, we headed back eastwards for Nelson's famous EcoSociety MarketFest! The town closes downtown's Baker Street and about 100 artisan & food vendors set up their tents to peddle their awesome wares.

Some really great local musicians come out and the streets are crowded with eclectic masses from Nelson and beyond!
After that, it was a quick vacay down to Sandpoint, Idaho to meet up with some family and friends and celebrate Canada Day - the American way! Cheap booze and lot of fireworks!
If you find yourself in Sandpoint, I highly recommend a trip to the MickDuff's Brewery & Pub - they've got delicious seasonal beers, incredibly friendly staff and tasty eats! They offer Growler's (64oz glass jugs of fresh craft beer, refillable at a very cheap price) available in any of their delicious draft beer choices.
May I recommend the Irish Redhead, Huckleberry Blonder and the Lake Paddler Ale to get you started.

Click the photo to check out their website. You won't be disappointed!
After Idaho, was a trip to SilverStar Bike Park near Vernon, BC. If you haven't been, its definitely worth the trip.

Two days of bike lift tickets and two nights of camping runs you about $90, add gas, beer and food and you've got yourself a relatively cheap weekend away. In fact, buy yourself a season's pass if you plan on going more than 5 times - which you will, once you've hit some of their fast, flowly, ultra progressive trails.
Think Whistler's littler sibling, less people, less money and more laps! (Note: Obviously Whistler is mind meltingly out of this world incredible in terms of radness and sheer volume of lifts, trails, terrain, etc. - I just mean SilverStar is a nice alternative, so get off my back!)
Ahem!
Plus, parking lot camping is the bees knees! Ten bucks gets you a sweet spot to sleep, room for a righteous campfire and access to clean, warm water showers. Now that is living! (Note: I straight up stole this photo off of Chrissie Leanne's facebook page, thanks pal!)

Another righteous photo of the tough life at SilverStar! Jude (the van) and the ladies cold chilling in the 36 degree heat. Sunscreen, water and beers are highly recommended! (Thanks for the photo, Chrissie, and nice jersey!)
Team Frozen Laundry, crushing some laps in the heat! Everyone loves SilverStar!
Next up - Fernie's Wam Bam Dirt Jump Jam! Check out this sick little edit from Nic Genovese Media of this years event, http://www.pinkbike.com/video/269375/
Sweet shot by Kyle Hamilton of this year's Wam Bam Dirt Jump Jam course. Tons of contestants, great prizes and killer riding!
Following the Wam Bam was a great display of downright dirty metal by Three Inches of Blood at Fernie's "The Northern Bar & Stage" which is a must see venue in the downtown core. Loud, sweaty and super fun - that bar knows how to have a good time. Check their website for upcoming events, you won't be disappointed.

Be sure to hit up Eggs & Kegs the morning after the big show at The Northern and let them cure what ails ya. Check out this grainy, blurry shot my hungover camera took the following day after 3 Inches. And that's just Liquid Brunch, they have chicken & waffles, pulled pork poutine and so much other good stuff! The Coal Miner seems like the right way to start the day, doesn't it?
We did some biking in Fernie too, but I just didn't get any photos! The lifts were rocking, trails in great shape and the weather finally co-operated! Every time I go to Fernie, I think I should move there, such a righteous little town!
The weekend after was a wet one, after a ride on Nelson's Placenta Descent it felt like it would never stop raining. Flash flooding, booming thunder and too close for comfort lightning put a damper on riding for a few days.
Hitting up a Mountain Station "Fat Chance" lap last week was a good indication of all the water that has been rushing down the mountainsides. Washed out corners and rutted trails made for exciting, but no ideal, conditions.
Another successful MarketFest just went passed where Frozen Laundry saw lots of good folks and had an opportunity to catch up with some long lost pals. Thanks for all the love and support that came by the tent that night! We wouldn't be here without you folks!
Followed up by a deep fried Oreo, and a BC/DC extravaganza at the Royal, it was one of the best Friday night's Nelson had to offer!
Now, we prepare both physically and mentally for the trip to Shambhala in early August. We'll be there from the 8th through to the 13th so if you've got yourself a ticket, stop by and say hi! We're teaming up with Cut Threads & Sugar Magnolia to make one hell of an awesome booth full of awesome, BC made goods. Don't wait until the last day to stop by cuz these wares are going to go fast!
Hope you're all having a kick ass summer, we look forward to seeing you soon!
Now, grab your ride and get outside!
